Is it safe to connect Telegram to a CRM? It is safe when the CRM reads your account and cannot act as you: no sending from your account, no stored messages, two-step verification respected, and a session you can kill from Telegram's own Devices screen. Scalegram is the Telegram CRM for IBs and forex affiliates, and its personal-account connection is read-only by design, with the only write being an address-book contact you ask it to save.
What you hand over when you log in
A Telegram CRM that builds your client list from your own account logs in the same way a new phone or a desktop app does. You type your number, Telegram sends a code, and the CRM's server becomes one more device on your account. Telegram's developer docs describe the code being checked with auth.signIn, and if the account has two-factor authentication on, the sign-in stops with a SESSION_PASSWORD_NEEDED error until the password is supplied.
That session is a full login, the same kind your phone holds, so software that has it could in principle read chats and send messages. The question is never whether a CRM could do those things with the session. It is what the CRM is built to do with it, and what it keeps.
The same login also puts the CRM under Telegram's rules for third-party apps. Telegram's API Terms of Service say all client apps "must, therefore, guard their users' privacy with utmost care", and they forbid "making actions on behalf of the user without the user's knowledge and consent."
Is it safe to connect Telegram to a CRM at all?
Yes, for a CRM built around reading. The risk is concentrated in three places, and you can check each one before you type a code.
Risk 1: the CRM writes as you
The biggest danger to an IB's account is not a hacker. It is automation sending messages from the account the business depends on. Telegram's Spam FAQ is blunt about what happens: when people press "Report spam" and moderators agree, "the account becomes limited temporarily." A limited account can still message people who saved its number and can "always reply to anyone who messages you first", but it loses the ability to start new chats with strangers.
The same page lists what gets reported: "unsolicited advertisements, links, invite links to groups or channels, random photos and, above all, anything related to commerce or online popularity." That is a fair description of a broker link sent cold. It also warns that "repeated offences will result in longer periods of being blocked." An account with five years of client chats is not something to risk on a drip campaign.
Scalegram's personal-account connection has no bulk sending, no drip campaigns and no automation of your account. The one write it can make is saving a lead into your Telegram contact list, under a name you choose, when you click it. Answering leads is the AI bot's job, and it answers people who wrote to you first.
Risk 2: the CRM keeps your conversations
A CRM that copies every message into its own database turns your client chats into someone else's data breach. For an IB, those chats hold names, emails, account numbers and broker details.
Scalegram has no message table. Client cards carry the stage, tags, private notes, UID, email, broker and deposit, and an Open in Telegram button; the conversation itself stays in Telegram. If you switch on Earlier Conversations for a bot (it is off by default), the bot reads that person's earlier chat for one reply, sends it to the AI model you chose with your own key, and drops it. We go through what a no-storage CRM keeps and what it does not in Telegram CRM privacy.
Risk 3: the session leaks
A stolen session is a stolen account. Ask any vendor how the session is stored. Scalegram encrypts sessions and tokens at rest and never displays them again after they are saved. The same applies to a broker API key: encrypted, never shown again, and used only for read calls.
Turn on two-step verification first
Do this before you connect any CRM. Telegram's FAQ puts the setting in Settings > Privacy and Security > 2-Step Verification, and says that once it is on "you will need both an SMS code and a password to log in." It also recommends a recovery email, protected with its own strong password.
If someone ever gets hold of a login code, the password still stands between them and your account. Scalegram supports it at connection: phone, code, then your 2FA password.
Know where the off switch is
Telegram's FAQ tells users with a lost phone to "go to Settings > Devices (or Privacy & Security > Active Sessions) and terminate your Telegram session". That is also where you end a CRM's session. Terminating Scalegram's session there cuts its access at once, without asking Scalegram for anything.
Check that screen once a month. If you see a device you do not recognize, end it, then change your 2FA password.
A bot connection instead of a login
There is a second route that never logs a CRM into your account. Telegram's connected business bots let users "connect Telegram bots that will process and answer messages on their behalf", and the user picks which chats the bot covers: existing chats, new chats, contacts or non-contacts, with exclusions.
The trade-off is what you want the CRM to know. Scalegram reads the account so that your whole contact list and everyone who ever wrote to you get a client card, and it still sends nothing from that account. Our personal account vs bot account guide compares the two in detail.
A separate account for cold outreach
Some teams do need cold outreach, and some tools built for it run it from separate accounts. CRMChat's Telegram accounts FAQ explains how to buy Telegram accounts inside the app for outreach, says those accounts "are warmed up and 30+ days old at least", and recommends "starting campaigns with a daily message limit of 5 during month one." If cold messaging is your job, that model keeps the risk off your main account, and CRMChat is the better fit. We compare the two products in Scalegram vs CRMChat.
If your leads come to you, from a channel, an ad or a bio link, you do not need any of that. You need every one of them answered, checked and filed, and your main account left alone.
Safety checklist before you connect
| Question to ask the vendor | Safe answer | Scalegram |
|---|---|---|
| Can it send messages from my account? | No, or only on a click from you | No sending; saves a contact only when you click |
| Does it store my conversations? | No | No message table in the product |
| Does it support my 2FA password? | Yes | Yes |
| How is the session stored? | Encrypted, never shown again | Encrypted at rest, never displayed again |
| Can I cut access without the vendor? | Yes, from Telegram's Devices screen | Yes, access ends at once |
| What does it do with my broker key? | Read only | Every call is a read; nothing written to the broker |
| Can a customer pull another customer's data from the bot? | No, filtered before sending | Keys, instructions and unexplained emails or account numbers are removed from every outgoing message |
How Scalegram connects, step by step
You enter your phone number and the code Telegram sends, then your 2FA password if you have one. Scalegram imports your contacts and everyone who ever wrote to you, and each becomes a client card with stage, tags and notes. Nothing from the conversations is written down. From then on the AI bot answers leads in the language they wrote in, checks their email or account number against your broker's records over a read-only API, opens the paid group and moves the card forward. You reply by hand in Telegram whenever you want; the card picks it up.
If you are comparing CRMs on more than safety, start with what a Telegram CRM is and the three kinds, then look at the plans on the pricing section. Lite is $99 a month and includes one Telegram account; the full plan is $999 a month with no limits.

Your Telegram account is the business. A CRM should read it, file it and leave the sending to a bot that answers people who wrote first.

Key takeaways
- Connecting a CRM gives it a full Telegram session, so what matters is what the CRM is built to do with it.
- Telegram limits accounts reported for unwanted messages; a CRM that never sends from your account keeps that risk away.
- Turn on two-step verification before connecting, and remember Settings > Devices is where any session can be ended.
- Scalegram's account connection is read-only, stores no messages and encrypts the session at rest.
- If your job is cold outreach, use separate accounts built for it and keep your main account out of it.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to connect my Telegram account to a CRM?
It is safe when the CRM is read-only, stores no messages, supports your two-step verification password and can be disconnected from Telegram's Devices screen; Scalegram meets all four.
Can a Telegram CRM get my account banned?
A CRM that sends unwanted messages from your account can get it limited, because Telegram restricts accounts after spam reports are upheld, while a read-only CRM such as Scalegram sends nothing from your account.
How do I disconnect a CRM from my Telegram account?
Open Settings > Devices (or Privacy and Security > Active Sessions) in Telegram and terminate the CRM's session, which ends its access straight away.
Does Scalegram read or store my Telegram messages?
Scalegram stores no messages; it builds client cards from your contacts and chats, and only if you switch on Earlier Conversations does a bot read one person's past chat to compose a single reply, then drop it.
Should I use my main Telegram account for cold outreach?
No; Telegram's Spam FAQ says people report unsolicited messages related to commerce and reported accounts can be limited, so cold outreach belongs on separate accounts and your main account should only answer people who wrote to you.
Put one bot on your own Telegram
Scalegram answers every lead in the language it arrived in, checks the deposit against the broker's own records, opens the paid group and files the client. Lite starts at $99 a month.
